Waisak Borobudur 2012

Last year me and my friend decide to go to Jogjakarta, to attend Buddhist celebration day called ‘Waisak’ it’s held on Borobudur temple, about two hour drive from city.
On beginning of May this year, we went there, there are several people that cannot come, it’s a shame but, I met several new friends, so it’s all good. We came from, Bali, Bandung and Jakarta, and we gather at Jogjakarta. Because there’s change on schedule, I went on first flight so you can imagine that I barely have a sleep. The group from Bali, arrive 1 day earlier, so they already have been around to city.
So the first thing I do is waiting our transpot to arrive, we stay on small hotel near maliobor. After that we went to several landmarks of Jogjakarta, and having good time there. Unfortunately  we came at rainy season, so every day after we got there raining every single day. On the first day we happen after we got out from “smart park” we got caught in the rain. And it made our journey much harder since we not using car, and it’s suck to do traveling on that kind of weather.
I happen to be on this situation several time, I remember when I went to Singapore, it’s rainy as well, so does when I go to Malaysia for the first time, I need to stay on LRT station since it rain so bad, and it produce float on the street. My next journey, on next few months happen to be on rain season, theoretically its summer ,but transition from spring to summer there’s always been rain sin between, this happen because I didn’t research well, since I do bought this ticket on a short notice , and my consideration that moment is, whether I can get myself a public holiday, because my new company a bit strict about their employee taking annual leave, so, I did my best on selecting the date, it may not be a spring, but, the fact I got extra 5 more days, and I travelling with my mom, if there’s less rain in our trips it will be great J
Back on topic, on the day of waisak we went of at 3am, it’s rain on the night before so we are doubting whether we go that early or not, since we want to go to some hill to watch sunrise. But some of us decide that we’ll go whatever happens.
So of we go, three motorcycle, 6 people, 2 people stay on hotel, I guess they have the most comfortable trip than most of us, if you wanna know why, let me explain the main reason only, they can get up late, they doing less travel than us, which means less energy, they went to eat lots of things, meanwhile we are starving.
But on the other side, we got to travel a lot on one day, we got to see a lot, disappoint a lot, for example we didn’t get to see the sunrise since its cloudy because of rain, our friend get flat tire, in the middle of nowhere on 4am in the morning, the steps on the hill so muddy, that to climb it’s a nightmare, not to mention to go down, it’s a freakin hell. We didn’t get the pass for watching main event, because we got a bit late, and all the ticket have been snatch by others groups and tour. We got detour a lot since so many road blocked for that event, so we even go to pass some bamboo bridge it’s one of my regret that I’m not  documenting it, simply because, I’m tired, hungry, and it’s hot as hell, so I lost interest, I regret it ever since. And we travel a lot for some restaurant just to get the fact that the place is closed, or need booking first -___-
The highlight of course, we got our self in the rain, for several hour, so it’s raining like crazy, and I forgot to bring the raincoat on motorcycle, and I certainly cannot go out anymore, and there’s no place to take cover, since all people want to do the same, so there we are, dancing in the rain. So the rain didn’t stop until late night, and it was so freakin cold, with my shirt wet, I think I got cold, and to think that we need to go back to our hotel in the city, and spend 2 hour in the street, it’s really not a happy thought that can help me go through the night. Luckily I’ve got my friends with me, so all is well
The main event is the release of lampion to the sky, it’s absolutely stunning to see hundreds of lampion disappear into the sky, it’s beautiful, but on the same time, I wonder where did they go, I hope they really off to heaven, because if not, it means that we just littering sky, the leftover will be other people problem to face in the morning.
After that we got lost when we trying to get out from the venue, coz it’s dark, the place so big, and with no help at all. After that we trying to get ourself a meal, since it’s late we decide to go to the city first, so we drive like bunch of racer, driving mad, but because the road clear we manage to get by safely, and so fast…good job mate ^ ^ and my friend that ride with me tell me after that she slept during the trip, what a lovely friend she is, sleeping and leaving me driving alone in the dark K
And so we are, back on the city, we got to one of street stall which happen to our most unpleasant food of all time, it’s taking too long, and the food taste horrible, not to mention the price that I spent is ridiculous, at least for my part of share..thanks to "ndeso chicken" that I order. But the moment spent eating with my friend is priceless, even though several like half asleep, plus I found out my that several my stuff got ruin because the rain L
After that we got back to our hotel, sleep like pig, and wake up in the morning to buy some snack to brought back. After that we depart and left with mix feeling..sad because it’s over, it’s too quick, and wishing more wonderful trip to come.
 The summary,
  •      Jogja is nice, but it’s not suitable for me, if I have to spend more days there, sorry :(
  •      The food, not the best, but it’s considerably cheap
  •      The event is nice, even there’s glitch on our journey, but the thing is, there so many people there, and lots with somewhat moron behavior, like not respecting monk the praying, and they doing self posing portrait with their cellphone, and then there are “photographer” that not using their brain at all, treating the monks like that, flashing flash right to their face when they trying to walk around temple while chanting their spell. It’s just not nice. So many people in this country need to learn better to respect others.
  •       It’s one unforgettable experience on my chapter of life
  •       Last but not least, I miss my friends even more as I writing this..miss u guys..hope you all doing well. ditunggu next trip nya .. ^__^
